ServiceNow Technical Governance Should be Built-in, Not Bolted on

Our organization started using xtype View last calendar year and immediately gained insights into our platform health across all instances. Consolidated and real time information on application and plug-in versioning helped us easily identify issues within our development and upgrade activities and allowed the platform team to be more informed. xtype is an essential tool for organizations with multiple ServiceNow instances. We are able to monitor development work across all instances through a single UI page, removing the need to login to each instance. xtype is used for promoting all completed development work captured in Update Sets. Automatically synchronizing promoted update sets to the rest of our development instances; removing the need to manually retrieve, preview, and commit. This is accomplished without the need of the System Administrator role, enhancing security by reducing the need for assigning elevated privileges. xtype has allowed us to be more effective and efficient, all while providing excellent customer support.

Previously, managing code segregation and defect determination required significant manual effort across 15 non-production instances on two platforms. With xtype’s automation capabilities and streamlined code deployment processes, tasks that once took days can now be completed within minutes. Additionally, the ability to quickly identify inconsistencies across instances allows us to proactively address patching and platform upgrades, enhancing both efficiency and system reliability.
