COVINA, Calif., April 30, 2025: xtype, the ServiceNow Multi-Instance Management Platform company, today announced the launch of its innovative xtype Preflight AI Agent, an advanced AI-powered validation tool designed to ensure update set viability before deployment. xtype will demonstrate this groundbreaking technology at the AI Innovation Zone at the upcoming ServiceNow Knowledge event, May 6-8 in Las Vegas.

As organizations continue to manage multiple ServiceNow instances across development, QA, and production, xtype Preflight AI helps teams identify common issues before they become problems, including naming convention conformity, meaningful descriptions and update set conflicts.

It’s a key area of focus for ServiceNow platform teams, who navigate the complexities of rapid delivery cycles while aiming to minimize errors, avoid conflicts, and uphold best practices.

xtype Preflight AI combines automation with AI capabilities to create a comprehensive validation solution that helps teams prevent deployment errors and reduce rework. It confirms naming conventions, checks for meaningful descriptions, and detects potential conflicts with update sets. By providing a comprehensive"preflight check," teams can avoid costly troubleshooting and rework during off-hours deployments while also making it easier to adhere to development standards consistently.

Infusing AI intoEvery Aspect of the ServiceNow Platform 

xtype Preflight AI was built using Agentic AI technology, introduced as part of the ServiceNow Platform Yokohama release. It enables companies to easily create, edit, and connect AI agents for smarter automation across any workflow.

Key Features of the xtype Preflight AI Agent:

- Meaningful Description Validation:Uses AI to verify that update set descriptions provide clear, meaningful information for future reference and troubleshooting.

- Naming Convention Validation:Checks if names of update sets match predefined regular expression patterns for naming conventions to automatically verify that update set names adhere to established naming standards, ensuring consistency across the platform.

- Conflict Detection: Proactively identifies potential conflicts with existing update sets to prevent deployment errors.

By leveraging LLM and scripted automation, xtype Preflight AI ultimately reduces costs incurred when errors are fixed reactively in higher environments (e.g.,production). The solution leverages ServiceNow's Agentic AI framework, which uses an orchestrator to process requests and determine appropriate actions.
