About xtype

xtype is the governance platform for ServiceNow. We help enterprises manage what happens across their ServiceNow instances—the sprawl, the drift, the “who changed what and why” chaos that slows down platform teams. Our customers are some of the largest ServiceNow deployments in the world, and they rely on us to bring clarity, control, and speed to how they build, test, and release on the platform.

We’re a small, focused team that punches well above its weight. You won’t find layers of process or months-long planning cycles here. You’ll find real problems, direct access to customers, and the space to do meaningful product work every day.

Product Manager (Inbound)

The Role

We’re hiring a Product Manager to own the execution core of our product team. This is an inbound PM role—you’ll live in the details of what we’re building, why, and how well it ships.

You’ll work closely with the CTO and engineering team to keep the product moving—from requirements through release and beyond. This isn’t a “write PRDs and wait” role. You’ll be in sprint planning, managing the backlog, running release processes, and doing the deep product work that turns customer needs into shipped features.

What You’ll Own

Requirements & Delivery

  • Drive requirements engineering—translating customer problems and strategic direction into clear, actionable specs that engineering can build against.
  • Own sprint planning alongside engineering leads. You know what’s in the sprint, why it’s there, and what’s at risk.
  • Manage the release process end-to-end—coordinating across engineering, QA, and stakeholders to ship on time and with confidence.

Backlog & Prioritization

  • Own the product backlog. Keep it clean, prioritized, and honest. Run regular backlog grooming and clean-up cycles.
  • Manage the ideation board—curate, structure, and ensure good ideas don’t die in a spreadsheet.
  • Make prioritization calls grounded in customer impact, technical feasibility, and business value.

Product Depth

  • Run product deep dives—the kind where you go three levels deeper than the surface requirement and come back with something engineering wants to build.
  • Structure topics and themes across the roadmap so the team always has context on where a feature fits in the bigger picture.
  • Contribute to product management processes and tooling—help us build the PM muscle as we scale.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the full R&D organization—engineering, development, and QA. You’re their product counterpart, embedded in the team, not a ticket machine.
  • Drive AI product decisions—xtype is AI-native. AI is at the core of what we build for customers, how we govern it on their behalf, and how we shape our own roadmap. You’ll lead the product side of our AI working group, ensuring AI investments translate into real customer value.

What You Bring

Required

  • 3–5 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, with a strong track record of shipping software.
  • Hands-on experience with the full product lifecycle—from discovery and requirements through sprint execution and release.
  • Experience with the ServiceNow ecosystem—as a customer, partner, developer, or product manager within it.
  • Strong backlog management and prioritization skills. You can look at 50 competing requests and make a clear call.
  • Excellent requirements engineering—you can translate ambiguous customer needs into structured, buildable specs.
  • Comfortable working directly with engineering teams. You understand technical trade-offs and can hold your own in architecture discussions.
  • Strong JIRA proficiency—you’ll live in JIRA daily, translating vision into IDEAs, Stories, and Epics, managing priority across the backlog, and keeping engineering aligned on what’s next. Experience with Confluence is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication in English.
  • Based in Israel, UK, or Austria. Our R&D teams are split between Tel Aviv and Vienna, so proximity to either hub is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with platform governance, DevOps, or instance management concepts.
  • Experience in a startup or scale-up environment where you had to build process, not just follow it.
  • Hands-on experience building or shipping AI-powered product features. We’re AI-native—if you’ve been in the room deciding what an AI feature should actually do for a customer, we want to talk to you.
  • Experience working with distributed, cross-functional teams across time zones.

What You Won’t Be Doing

To be clear about scope: this role is focused on inbound product execution. You won’t be responsible for pricing, GTM strategy, analyst relations, or outbound product marketing—that’s handled by other parts of the team. Your job is to make sure what we build is the right thing, built well, and shipped reliably.

Why This Role Matters

Our customers are enterprise platform teams managing some of the most complex ServiceNow environments in the world. They depend on xtype to move faster without breaking things—and they need us to keep getting better. This role exists to make sure every feature we ship is grounded in real customer problems, built with precision, and delivered reliably. You’ll have real ownership from day one, a direct line to leadership, and the satisfaction of seeing your work land with customers who genuinely depend on it.

Tell us about a product you shipped that you’re proud of—and what made it hard.
